Making Connections for Mental Health and Wellbeing for Men and Boys

NALHD staff joined other grantees in Oakland in November 2015

Through our Making Connections project, NALHD is helping communities across the state connect Veterans and their families with what they need to thrive as parents, spouses, and grandparents. This work is supported by our partners at the Prevention Institute and the Movember Foundation.

Mental Health First Aid

NALHD members are working with partners at NE-DHHS to increase availability of Mental Health First Aid Training across the state.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives participants the skills they need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
