Equity Advancement Initiative

Multi-year investments from Nebraska’s Medicaid managed care plans and other partners enable NALHD’s Equity Advancement Initiative. This initiative...

  • Extends LHD teams’ capacity to help diverse communities (including Medicaid members) understand and address Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), such as the need for food assistance, housing, preventive screenings, transportation, etc.
  • Develops better solutions to manage and share LHDs’ SDOH screening and referral data to meet the unique needs of public health.

Oral Health Expansion in Nebraska

NALHD’s Oral Health Expansion Project, made possible by a 3-year grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)*, is a testament to our commitment to improving oral health in Nebraska communities. This project is not just about providing resources; it is also about empowering local and tribal health departments to expand the reach of their school- and community-based dental programs. Oral health is crucial to overall community health and well-being.
